For Rocstar ❤️ The Skip Challenge Begins

The skip challenge officially starts today and thanks to the generous donations we’ve already received, both Natasha and I have our own special skipping ropes ready to begin this journey in Rocco’s memory.

We had planned to drive to the park to start together, but the rain had other ideas. So instead, I took my rope downstairs and started right there, a simple moment that somehow felt bigger than I expected.

Anyone who knows me knows I’m not the fittest person. When the skipping rope arrived earlier this week, I decided to give it a try and managed five skips before tripping. I laughed, caught my breath, and thought, well, that’s a start.

Today, I made it to 79 skips! Not all at once, and it probably took me a good ten minutes from the first to the last, but I did it. Seventy-nine skips for the seventy-nine Australians whose lives are cut short by heart disease every day. One of those skips was for Rocstar and every one after that carried his name in my heart.

Doing this challenge isn’t just about numbers or fitness. It’s about remembering him: his laughter, his energy, his love for life and turning that ache into action. Every jump feels like a heartbeat, and every heartbeat is a reminder of how precious life is.

To everyone who’s donated, liked a post, or sent a message thank you. Your kindness means so much, not just to me, but to Natasha and Nicolas too. Your support reminds us that his memory lives on, not only in our hearts but in the hearts of those who care enough to stand beside us.

💔 Remembering Rocco: Five Years On

It’s hard to believe that on November 3rd five years will have passed since we lost Rocstar. Time has moved forward, but the ache remains a quiet constant, woven into our everyday lives. He may no longer be here with us physically, but his memory, his laughter, and his spirit continue to live on in our hearts.

This year, in his honour, our family will be taking part in the Heart Foundation Skip Challenge.

Because every jump is a heartbeat.

Every heartbeat is a life.

And every life deserves the chance to keep beating.

On average, 79 Australians have their lives cut short by heart disease every day. That number isn’t just a statistic. It’s families shattered, stories unfinished, and loved ones left behind. Our number is one of them.

That’s why there is a challenge: 79 skips: one for each life lost daily, including his.

💪 Will I make it to 79?

I can’t promise I’ll hit that number on the first try… or even the second. But I can promise that with your encouragement, and with the support of Natasha and Nicolas by my side, I’ll do my absolute best.

Every skip will be for him.

Every breath will carry his name.

Every donation, share, or word of encouragement will help raise awareness for heart health and hopefully help other families avoid this pain.
