Supporting Heart Health holds a special place in our hearts
For those who don't know, Juliette collapsed at home at just 7 days old and was rushed to Westmead Children's Hospital, where we received the devastating news that she had multiple heart defects: coarctation of the aorta, multiple ventricular septal defects, and a bicuspid aortic valve.
She received incredible care from the entire team at Westmead and, once stable enough, had surgery at 10 days old to repair her aorta. Her VSDs have improved significantly and are no longer easily identifiable on scans. She now only needs check-ups with her cardiologist every 2 years—incredible news! While we don't know what the future holds for her bicuspid aortic valve, supporting the Heart Foundation helps fund research into new treatment options should they ever be needed.
Jules has come along leaps and bounds since that first terrifying month, and you'd never know what she's been through.
She's skipping to make sure other kids with congenital heart defects receive the best treatment possible.
